Shoppers Researching More Than Big Ticket Purchases

The shift continues.

Take, for example, this article in the Wall Street Journal, which notes shopper research has moved beyond the most expensive items to the daily shopping lists - even groceries.

Whether its food and beverages, baby items, or pet products, consumers are researching first before they buy.

Internet research does not necessarily mean that the shopper is going to purchase online. The WSJ article reveals that of those researching baby items online, the majority went on to make their purchase inside a brick and mortar store.

Further evidence that this shift is legitimate: the article notes that advertising and marketing companies are moving to provide information and media to researching shoppers. Media and information shifting with consumer demand.

How much control do you have over what shoppers see of your products? They're researching more and more.
